A Vacutainer CPT (Cell Preparation Tube) 8mL is a specialized blood collection tube used for the isolation of mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from whole blood. It is commonly used in immunology, infectious disease research, and clinical applications such as immune monitoring and cell-based assays.

Key Features of Vacutainer CPT Tube (8mL):
Pre-filled with anticoagulant and density gradient medium
Contains Sodium Citrate as an anticoagulant.
Includes Ficoll™-based density gradient separation gel to facilitate the separation of mononuclear cells.
Enables one-step PBMC isolation
Eliminates the need for traditional manual density gradient centrifugation (e.g., Ficoll-Paque™).
Reduces processing time and variability.
Standardized blood volume capacity
Designed to process up to 8mL of whole blood.
Sterile, single-use tube
Used for clinical and research applications where high-quality PBMC isolation is required.
Compatible with centrifugation
A specific centrifugation protocol is required to successfully separate PBMCs from other blood components.

Usage and Applications:
PBMC isolation for immune function studies (T cells, B cells, NK cells, monocytes).
Flow cytometry, ELISPOT, cytokine assays, and other immunological analyses.
Infectious disease and vaccine research.
Autoimmune disease monitoring.
Clinical trials and biomarker discovery.

How It Works (Basic Procedure):
1. Collect blood sample into the CPT tube (fill to the designated volume).
2. Invert gently (8–10 times) to mix with the anticoagulant.
3. Centrifuge as per manufacturer’s protocol (typically around 1500–1800 RCF for 20–30 minutes at room temperature).
4. PBMC layer forms above the gel separator after centrifugation.
5. Carefully extract the PBMC layer using a pipette for downstream applications.

Storage and Handling:
Store at room temperature (15–25°C).
Avoid excessive heat or freezing.
